What it says about itself: Inspired by one of the most evocative Indian images – that of colourful saris swaying in the wind - Saffron gives you the true taste of Indian royalty. Here we serve cuisine that has adorned the tables of the Nawabs in all their finery. Our vastly experienced chef and his team at the open kitchen, serve the most succulent kebabs from the skewer. Saffron offers Indian cuisine from the Royal Homes of the Hyderabadi Nizams and Avadhi Nawabs. Add to this a delectable selection of curries and biryanis from the famed kitchens of Hyderabad and Lucknow almost transport you back in time.
Recommended food: Lukmi’ (morsels of dough of yoghurt and flour filled with spiced cheese and potato), ‘Nalli Ka Khasa Salan (baby goat braised in special “potli” masala), ‘Gosht ki Dum Biryani’ (rice with cuts of kid, served with mirch
Saffron has great wait staff but the Managers suck. Ordered Butter Chicken last night. The waiter agreed to make it specially for me which was great, except the Chef does not seem to know how to make Butter Chicken. As far as I see it a chef that cannot cook simple Butter Chicken should stop cooking! The Kebab platter showed up one Kebab at a time, we were expecting a platter but what showed up was a single kebab and then after about 15 minutes another one, pretty much lost our appetite by the time the third kebab showed up.
We called the Manager (Sridevi) and she aplogised but did not do anything to rectify or resolve the issues. I did enter my name and number in a little feedback survey they had.
This is the same Manager that a few months back had accepted a reservation for us at 8.30 pm and when we showed up told us that the tables were full and then did nothing to resolve the matter either. All places can take reservations I guess Saffron needs to understand that its not just about writing the reservation down they need to actually hold the reservation too.
Great restuarant with lots of good kebebs
