What we thought of it: Mr Dhananjay Shetty sure got it right this time again. A decade ago he started the then popular nightclub, J49 which unfortunately died down over the years. Business acumen has now led him to convert the whole place into a unique and classy offering. Known now as a boutique hotel, Juhu Residency has transformed, adapted to what Juhu might just have needed. The Melting Pot forms part of the fine dine experience offered by the hotel. And yes it truly does signify what they boast of being, a confluence of cuisines.
The ambience is great. The place is well spread out with minimal but classy interiors and hence make perfect for a night out with closed ones. You can choose to grab a drink at the bar, lounge in the open air section, or just enjoy a quiet delectable meal in the main restaurant area.
Melting pot hosts an exhaustive menu. From traditional Manglorean dishes to exotic European and fusion dishes, Mr. Fernandes (Head F&B) dares to offer it all. The sea food, although very unique is at par with the best available in the city. All of it was very fresh and more importantly, well flavored. The menu surprisingly has a lot in store for vegetarians too. Well guided by the staff, we were able to try a lot of things on the menu. The Non-seafood Chinese fare was above average, with distinct tastes and was nicely presented. The Indian fare was strictly passable compared to the rest, but you'd be complacent to order much of it when so much is on the menu. Special mention to the bartender who has come up with some interesting cocktails which were distinctly flavoured and very well presented.
Definitely a promising offering and a must visit, Mumbai can boast of a good seafood fine dine with great ambience, handpicked courteous staff and some interestingly chosen fare.
Sea-food at its best! Probably one of the finer sea food places in this side of town, my guess is this place may even beat the popular Mahesh Lunch Home down the road. Melting Pot definitely offers some amazing sea food fare. And as you'll mentioned, it all seems very fresh. Went to the place after i saw a review on the site, and i must say it was definitely worth every penny i spent there.
