NORAH JONES

Album Name – NOT TOO LATE

CD/DVD MRP: Rs.695/
CD MRP: Rs.395/
MC MRP: Rs.150/
On The Web: www.norahjones.com

Multi Grammy Award Winning singer-songwriter-pianist Norah Jones returns on January 30, 2007, with her third and most personal statement to date. NOT TOO LATE, collection of 13 original songs either written or co-written by Norah, and produced by Lee Alexander, her longtime songwriting partner and bass player.

11 of 13 songs on NOT TOO LATE are Norah’s creations, half of which were helped towards completion by Lee. The two exceptions are Lee’s Kurt Weill-esque “Sinkin’ Soon,” which was co-written by Norah and features vocal contributions from singer-songwriter M. Ward, and the soulful “Thinking About You,” which Norah co-wrote with Wax Poetic bandleader Ilhan Ersahin in 1999.

Most importantly these songs present a much more complete picture of Norah herself, her personality, her humor, her mind. As a performer she has reached a new level of confidence after what she jokingly refers to as her “awkward phase,” and as an increasingly astute songwriter she delves more directly into the world around her, from the darkly comic “My Dear Country” to the poignantly uplifting closing song which reassures us that “it’s not too late for love.”

Many of the musicians on NOT TOO LATE will be familiar to Norah’s fans, including guitarists Jesse Harris, Adam Levy, Robbie McIntosh and Kevin Breit, drummer Andy Borger, and singer Daru Oda, but many special guests lend their talents as well, from M. Ward to jazz organist Larry Goldings to Kronos Quartet cellist Jeff Ziegler.

SIMON WEBBE
Album Name – GRACE

CD MRP: Rs.395/
On The Web: www.simonwebbe.net

Fresh from the massive success of his debut solo album SANCTUARY, ex-Blue member Simon Webbe triumphantly returns this winter with his second album, GRACE.

GRACE is very much an urban folk record - warm, uplifting and real. "It's not a huge departure from SANCTUARY," Simon says, meaning that the arrangements are still lushly soulful, and the lyrics poignant and heartfelt.

Stand out tracks include the gospel-scented, semi-acoustic title track “Grace” about Simon’s mother and the way she raised him. Simon says, “I was a bit wild at one point, and she sent me to Nevis [the island where she grew up] when I was 14 to experience life as she was raised. It was like a boot camp. I went a boy, and came back a man.” The song’s chorus - “You give me grace to say when I got it wrong” – is his way of thanking her.

The album's solid-gold anthem, and first single, is "Coming Around Again," an utterly infectious folk-tinged number that promises to be as big a hit as last year's "No Worries." Simon adds, "Coming Around Again" is about good times, and the strength of the human spirit.”

2006 saw Simon achieve international solo success with sales across Europe and Asia, culminating in Simon picking up the “Best Breakthrough Act” award at the MTV Asia Awards.
