What it says about itself: San-Qi – literally ‘three-energies’ in Japanese and Mandarin – pulsates with the spirit of modern, evolving Asia. The restaurant invites diners on an eclectic, culinary journey through the ‘three energies’ at the heart of Asian cuisine – Japanese, Wok and Tandoor. The lower level showcases the Tandoor and Wok kitchens as well as a dramatic bar, while the open upper level emulates a contemporary Japanese setting featuring a Sushi bar, Teppanyaki table and Robata grill

What we thought of it: San Qi has to be one of the best made restaurants in Mumbai today. The designers claimed to have created a Food Theater and probably no one can refute this claim. The restaurant boasts a bold design statement with an open kitchen integrated into the sleek interiors dominated with wood and glass. Seating is also available in 3 private dining areas as well as the chefs table for exclusive functions.
The menu is vast, especially because they cater to three different cuisines, each with a wide variety in itself. They offer set lunches with a wide range of single dishes, asian rice or noodles and Bento selections. You can also enjoy a traditional thali if you choose to. We loved the peeking duck fried dim sum and the Red Chili sauce and vinegar chicken dim sum. The pork loins with squid meat is worth a mention.
If a quite meal is not your thing, you can opt for the dinner here, which is a high energy affair with their DJ spinning world music while you can enjoy their excellent selection of mouth watering sushi, kebabs. Their authentic Cantonese dishes are some of the best we ve tasted in the city. They have an excellent selection of wines boastfully displayed between the first and second level. There s plenty for vegetarians too. All in all, you ll most probably leave this place having enjoyed every bit of your experience here.
